RV Friendly Town Chinchilla Queensland, Chinchilla is an Australian town in Queensland located approximately 300 kilometres north-west of Brisbane on the Warrego Highway. Chinchilla was established in 1878, and is arguably nest known for its melon production. Estimates suggest it provides 25% of Australia’s melons. Visitors to Chinchilla in fully self-contained recreational vehicles will find short-term parking at the Chinchilla Visitor Information Centre, which also has potable water. Parking is available free of charge for up to 24 hours. No tent camping permitted. Alternatively, fully self-contained recreational vehicles can stay at the showgrounds for $5 per night. Additional long-term parking is available Chinchilla Weir and donations are payable to the Chinchilla Visitor Information Centre. There is a dump point located at Wondai Road Chinchilla. There are a number of towns in the Western Downs area that are RV Friendly including Chinchilla, Dalby and Miles. Dump points, potable water and casual parking areas are available in most of our communities for your convenience.
