Beacon is on the northeast border of the Wheatbelt region with agriculture being one of the major occupations in the area. Short and long term camping for fully self-contained recreational vehicles (RVs) is available at the Beacon Caravan Park in Lucas Street Beacon at a cost of $11 per van/per night for an unpowered site and $26 per night for a powered site. These prices include use of amenities and kitchen facilities. There is a dump point and potable water at the Beacon Caravan Park. A visit to the very popular and spectacular Billiburning Rock and Nature Reserve is recommended when staying at the Beacon RV Friendly stop. Together with many other RV Friendly Towns WA, Beacon is well-known for its spectacular wildflower display that occurs following opening season rains.
