Brighton is located approximately 30 kilometres north of Hobart. The RV Friendly stay is at nearby Pontville Tasmania, just a few kilometres further north. It is situated on the Jordan River, the RV Friendly stop is a quiet place to stop over with easy access to Hobart’s attractions. Pontville is rich in history, it was originally settled in 1821 and contains many examples of colonial architecture, including the Police Station (1939), Saint Marks Church (1939) and the Crown Inn (1835). The Crown Inn still operates and sells excellent meals in its dining room, and is very convenient to the RV Friendly Stop area. A short drive up the road is the main street of Brighton, a growing town with all the necessary amenities and more including an IGA Supermarket, butcher, large service station, award winning bakery, hotel and much more. Parking is available for up to 48 hours at the Pontville RV Park, located at Glen Lea Road, for a fee of $5 per night. A dump point, potable water, covered seating and bins are all available at this site. All vehicles staying at the RV Friendly Stop Pontville must be fully self contained.
